2025 Astoria Turkey Trot FAQs
What’s included with my ticket?
Each participant receives entry to the 5K/1 MILE, access to the post-run community gathering with complimentary refreshments, and a swag bag filled with local love (contents may vary depending on sponsor support).
How will I receive my ticket?
You’ll receive a confirmation email immediately after checkout with your digital tickets. Have your digital ticket handy at check-in on trot day.
What time does the trot start?
Warm-ups and check-in will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the official race start at 9:30 AM. Please plan to arrive early to get settled before the start.
Where does the trot start and end?
The 2025 Astoria Turkey Trot will start at the Astoria Park bleachers. The finish line will be outside Blue Brick Real Estate and Kumon, located on 23rd Avenue at 24th Street. The full course map will be shared with participants by email.
What if I don’t know whether I want to do the 5K or 1 Mile?
No need to decide ahead of time! Both the 5K and 1-mile routes start together, and you can choose which distance feels right for you once you’re out on the course. Pricing is the same for all participants — it’s all about joining in, moving together, and having fun!
Can I register on the day of the event?
Registration will remain open online while spots last. We recommend registering early to guarantee your spot (and early swag eligibility!).
I see that Kid Admission is ages 4-12. Are children younger than this permitted?
Yes! Kids ages 3 and under can join in for free. Strollers are welcome!
What is the distance for the trot?
We have two routes available: 5K and 1 Mile. Participants can choose which route they would like to follow on trot day!
Can I walk instead of run?
Absolutely! The Astoria Turkey Trot welcomes runners and walkers of all paces.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes! Strollers are welcome!
Is there a giveaway for early registrants?
Yes! We’re planning a special giveaway for the first 50 registrants. Eligible participants will be notified by email.
What happens if it rains?
The Astoria Turkey Trot is a rain-or-shine event. In the unlikely event of severe weather or city restrictions, participants will be notified via email.
Are tickets refundable or transferable?
All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued, including in the event of weather-related changes or cancellations. Tickets are non-transferable.
Will there be water or refreshments available?
Yes! We’ll have a water station along the route and complimentary refreshments at the post-run community gathering.
Will participants receive race bibs or timing chips?
No — the Astoria Turkey Trot is a fun run, not a timed race, so bib numbers and timing chips are not provided. We’ll still cheer you on every step of the way! Participants are encouraged to wear their own festive gear.

Where do event proceeds go?
Net proceeds from this event will be donated to public schools, in support of athletic events and programs, to help keep Queens kids active and thriving.
