2025 ASTORIA TURKEY TROT
How it started
What started in 2019 as a small community run organized by local moms has grown into one of Astoria’s favorite Thanksgiving traditions — the Astoria Turkey Trot.
From those early mornings in Astoria Park, where check-in was run from the back of a car, this grassroots event has evolved into a joyful, family-friendly run that drew over 200 participants last year — and continues to grow each season as more families and local businesses get involved.

This Year's Mission
Now in its 7th year, the Turkey Trot continues to represent what makes our community special — togetherness, movement, and local pride.
While the Turkey Trot has always brought our community together, this year we’re taking it a step further — setting our first-ever fundraising goal to directly benefit District 30 public schools.
Net proceeds from the event will support athletic programs in District 30, helping schools sustain and expand opportunities for kids to stay active — without pulling resources from other essential services.
