Bridge to Bravery
At Kids of Queens, we know bravery isn't just about pushing through—it’s about owning your story and standing tall no matter the odds. Bridge to Bravery is our monthly program that shines a light on young fighters from New York City who don’t back down. These kids face challenges head-on and prove every day that they’re tougher than whatever life throws at them.
Each month, we feature a “Kid of Queens” who’s walking their own Bridge to Bravery—conquering their unique battles and showing the world what real strength looks like. During their month, a portion of our sales goes directly to a charity tied to their journey, bringing awareness and resources to the cause that’s closest to them.
This isn’t just about raising awareness; it’s about giving these kids the platform they deserve to own their fight and inspire others. Like a bridge connects distant points, Bridge to Bravery links kids with the support they need to keep pushing forward, while showing the world what resilience really means.

HOW DO I NOMINATE A CHILD FOR BRIDGE TO BRAVERY?
Do you know a child who is walking their own Bridge to Bravery? We want to hear their story!
We invite you to nominate a brave kid from Queens (or beyond) who is facing their challenges with resilience and strength.
Our team will carefully review each nomination, taking into account the child’s story and the ways they are making an impact through their bravery.
HOW DO YOU SELECT CHILDREN FOR BRIDGE TO BRAVERY?
We are committed to celebrating kids who show incredible courage in the face of challenge. Each child chosen for Bridge to Bravery is selected based on the following criteria:
- Courage in the Face of Challenges: We focus on children who are bravely navigating life with a medical condition, illness, disability, or learning difference, with a focus on rare conditions. These kids exemplify resilience as they face the physical and emotional hurdles that come with their diagnosis.
- Need for Support: We prioritize children who could benefit from increased awareness and support, whether through fundraising for their condition, emotional encouragement, or connecting with a larger community.
- Connection to a Cause: Each child’s story is linked to a condition or cause that is important to them. During their spotlight month, a portion of our sales will be donated to a charity or foundation related to their condition, helping to bring attention and resources to the cause that affects their lives.
